Yes, a home Wi-Fi or smartphone hotspot connection is required to use Joy's intelligent generative conversational AI (LLM).

Don't worry! All of your child's conversation data is strongly encrypted and thoroughly protected, so you can use it with complete peace of mind.

Check the volume first. If the doll's volume in the Cuddles AI app is turned down near zero, it stays silent even when it is on. Raise it in the app or tell the doll "turn the volume up".

Then check power (blue light) and Wi-Fi, say the doll's name, wait a second or two, and speak. If it is still silent, turn it off and on again.

Joy supports both USB C-type wired charging and wireless charging (flat wireless charging pad). No charger is included in the box -- simply use your existing C-type phone charger or a flat wireless charging pad. By not including unnecessary chargers, we're doing our part for the environment.

Yes! The AI module is designed to be removable, so you can take it out and wash the plush body.

Joy is recommended for children ages 3 and up. It can be enjoyed by kids from the time they start talking all the way through elementary school.

Joy can seamlessly switch between Korean and English during conversations, providing a natural bilingual environment.

Turn the toy off and back on, then press and hold the [lightning] button for 3 seconds or more, before the spoken prompt starts. Once it enters Wi-Fi setup mode, choose your new network the same way you did during first setup.

These buttons do nothing while the toy is already connected to Wi-Fi. Press them right after powering on.

Yes, you can change it anytime in the Cuddles AI app. The basic voices are Sua (female) and Siwoo (male). A Cuddles+ membership adds Hobin (male) and Saeron (female). You can also customize Joy's name and personality.

The conversation voice changes right away, but the startup greeting changes only after the toy restarts. When you save in the app it offers to restart the toy for you. If the toy is off, the change applies the next time you turn it on.

Members-only voices revert to a basic voice when the membership ends. They become available again if you resubscribe.

Battery life varies depending on usage, but it provides plenty of playtime under normal use. You can check the battery status in real time through the app.

All KC certifications have been obtained. Children’s product safety confirmation (filing no. CB061D080-6001) and radio conformity registration (R-R-AnCK-Cuddles-v1) are both complete.

You can request an exchange or return within 7 days of receiving your order. Return shipping is free for defective products or incorrect shipments. For returns due to a change of mind, the customer is responsible for round-trip shipping costs.

The biggest difference is talk time. Free gives 20 minutes a day and 60 minutes a week per doll; Cuddles+ ($14.90/month) gives 30 minutes a day and 120 minutes a week per account. For the first 7 days from a doll's first conversation you get 30 minutes a day and 90 a week, and for the first 30 days after a paid plan starts, 30 minutes a day with no weekly limit (once per doll and per account). Cuddles+ also includes story making (3 a week), auto-adjusted game levels, 4 voices, and the full weekly report with past reports and sharing. Free chat, memory, safety alerts and the full conversation history are included on the free plan too.

You can buy one subscription per doll, and talk time grows with the number of subscriptions. Two dolls on the 12-month plan means two subscriptions: 60 minutes a day and 240 a week, shared by both dolls. Two dolls with a single Cuddles+ share 30 minutes a day and 120 a week; if that's not enough, add another subscription from your account page. Each plan is billed and can be canceled separately.

With two minutes left, Joy says "We can play for two more minutes." When time is up, Joy wraps up with "Let's stop here for today — we'll talk again tomorrow." Joy is never cut off mid-sentence, and you get a notification. If you need more, extra minutes (30 minutes for $3) will be available on this website when US checkout opens — on the free plan too. They are used after the daily and weekly limits, and are valid for 90 days. The balance shows on the app's plan screen.

Joy is an AI plush and says so honestly when asked. If your child says something worrying — self-harm, abuse, an emergency — Joy stops playing, uses a fixed line to encourage them to tell a trusted grown-up, and you get an immediate notification in the app. Signals that need watching over time, like bullying or lasting sadness, are collected on the app's safety screen. Joy never diagnoses, and every conversation stays visible to you.

Joy tells little math stories — "You have three apples and get two more, how many now?" — and your child answers out loud. A round is three or four problems, across five levels from counting, adding and taking away up to times tables and dividing. The first level follows your child's age; after that it moves one step up or down based on recent rounds. A wrong answer gets counting together rather than the answer straight away. Available from age 3 on both English and Korean dolls. Outside the game, ask "what's 100 minus 37?" and Joy calculates and answers exactly. The weekly report shows rounds, problems and the share solved without a hint.

For factual questions like "What's the biggest dinosaur?", Joy says "Hold on, let me look that up" and searches only pre-approved children's sources such as Britannica Kids, NASA and the Smithsonian, then answers in two short sentences. No YouTube, news or social media — and if the answer isn't in those sources, Joy says it doesn't know rather than making something up. Only the question text is sent to the search provider, never your child's name or voice.
